Seal Porous Substrates

  • Sealed – Non Porous
    • Seal Tile Grout Lines – Stained Grout is Your Easiest Observeable Symptom (Sanded & Non-Sanded Cementitious Grout) should be sealed, clean and uniform. The presence of grout staining generally suggest seals have failed allowing dirt, bacteria and other nasties to enter and hide from one’s cleaning-and-disinfection protocols.
      • MARBLELIFE COLORSEAL process can address existing surfaces and restore a clean-sealed-uniform-ease to maintain and disinfect surface in 8 hours. COLORSEAL represents a durable long-lasting process typically requiring one treatment. This is the easiest and fastest means of eliminating GROUT STAIN appearance and the risks it foretells. SUITABLE FOR ALL SURFACES THAT HAVE GROUT LINES
      • For YEARS our mutual clients have been telling us they are concerned with the hygienic implications that “dirty grout” or “stained grout” implies
        • BOMA ANNUAL TENANT SURVERY of Office building tenants have for years listed their primary concern as being the appearance of bathroom floors (grout).
        • Hotel secret shoppers list the appearance of the guest bathroom floor as their primary visual que determining whether they perceive the room as being properly cleaned and whether they will come back.
        • Each us chuckles when we share the experience of “Having a wonderful meal, stopping by the facilities before leaving, and having our spouse tell us “We are NEVER coming back here,” on the way to the car. Everyone has their list of do-not-return properties based on ugly bathrooms, most of which are stained-grout issues caused by inappropriate cleaning which can be restored by MARBLELIFE in 8 hours.
        • No one wants to have to try and get out of a bathroom with their elbows in order to avoid touching a perceived non-hygienic door because the floor suggests things are not in control.
    • Seal Granite Counters
      • Generally sealed to avoid staining and to maintain a cleanable surface
        • Seals are acid sensitive.
        • Acidic cleaners such as vinegar or citrus containing cleaner will damage and remove sales over time.
        • Seals keep oils, dirt, bacteria and other nasties on the surface where they can be cleaned and removed for better food prep health
        • Generally seals should be re-applied every 2 years. This can be done with a wipe-on/wipe-off product such as MARBLELIFE Stone Sealer or MARBLELIFE Grout Sealer, or reach out to MARBLELIFE and have a MARBLELIFE Craftsman assess your situation and apply as needed.
      • Granite comes in a resonated and non-resonated form. Resination is a process whereby a polyester resin is drawn through the stone in order to reduce the stone’s natural brittleness sufficiently to allow shipping without damage. If resonated ones stone does not need to be sealed – however there are no tests for resonation – as such from a health standpoint it is better to seal.
    • Seal Marble Counters
      • Similar to granite counters – marble needs to be periodically sealed to keep dirt, oil, bacteria and nasties on the surfaces where they can be more easily cleaned and removed. Sealing does NOT protect against acid etching of stone.
