Travertine Sealing Services: Protect Your Surfaces with MARBLELIFE

Protect your travertine from stains, moisture, and everyday wear with MARBLELIFE® Travertine Sealing. We start with thorough cleaning, repair, and polishing to restore clarity, then apply a professional penetrative sealer for long-lasting stain resistance and moisture protection across floors, countertops, and showers. For surfaces with open voids or new pinholes, MARBLELIFE’s TraviFIL™ service fills and smooths the stone, creating an even finish that’s easier to clean and maintain while enhancing durability. Daily traffic, tracked-in grit, and household acids can etch, dull, and discolor unprotected travertine; sealing helps block intrusion and preserve a crisp, elegant look.

We Are the Travertine Surface Experts

MARBLELIFE is your trusted specialist for travertine sealing and care. Travertine’s natural beauty elevates any space, but its porous nature leaves it vulnerable to wear. Without proper protection, etching, stains, and deterioration can dull its elegance. MARBLELIFE® provides professional stone sealing and travertine polishing that protect your surfaces with lasting resistance to stains and moisture.

Addressing The Frequent Travertine Troubles:

Etching

Marks from acidic substances that mar your surface.

Stains

Food, grease, and oil stains, especially on kitchen countertops.

Discoloration

There may be loss of shine with the use of inappropriate cleaners.

Dirt and Grime

Deep clean unfilled tiles to bring back their original luster.

Cracks

We fix cracks due to installation issues, ensuring a seamless look.

Our Approach

We’ve designed a multi-step process for travertine floors to maximize bonding with the surface and lasting protection.

STEP 1
Assessment
Our experts begin by evaluating your travertine and associated grout’s condition to identify any staining, chips, cracks, holes or scratches that may require special attention prior to sealing.
STEP 2
Mask and Protect
MARBLELIFE masks and protectssurrounding areas and furnishings before starting.
STEP 3
Cleaning
Travertine surfaces are cleaned to remove surface impurities, like dust and debris to ensure sealer has direct access to the full surface.
STEP 4
Repair
Chips, cracks and hole damage is repaired to ensure that the repair materials are also sealed.
STEP 5
Polishing
Any etched or dull areas are polished to revive your surfaces' natural shine and luster prior to sealing so that your seal is the last step and is not disrupted by either honing or polishing of the surface.
STEP 6
Penetrative Sealer
A sealer formulated to enable it to penetrate the narrow open pores found in stone and grout surfaces is then applied and allowed to penetrate the pores before excess material is removed from the surface to ensure the seal is where we want it within the travertine and grout’s formerly open pores. Once sealed dirt, and spills are kept on the surface where they can be more easily and quickly wiped up. Wiping clean a surface is far easier than getting a stain out of deep pore. This is the ease-of-cleaning benefit of a sealed surface.
STEP 7
Inspection
Your MARBLELIFE technician will then remove protecting masking and ensure the surface and surrounding area is returned to clutter free ready-to-use state.
STEP 8
Post-Service Guidance
MARBLELIFE provides post-serviceguidance, expert tips, and care product advice on keeping your surface looking great and preventing potential issues in the future. Key to this discussion includes HOW TO CARE guidelines. Most seals are self-removed with the use of an inappropriate cleaner. Understanding how and why this occurs and how to differentiate between a product with great marketing and a product that performs without damaging your seal is likely the most valuable service provided. An acidic cleaner or cleaning can not only remove your seal, but damage and dull your travertine. MARBLELIFE has formulated cleaners expressly for this reason. MARBLELIFE cleaners embody the vast learnings associated with assisting clients to restore their cleaner-damaged floors after the fact. Armed with a MARBLELIFE sealed travertine surface and knowledge on cleaning one can expect years of worry-free performance.

While DIY sealing is possible, professional services ensure proper application and optimal protection.

Penetrating sealers are commonly used, absorbing into the stone to provide internal protection without altering the surface texture. Sealing does reduce the risk of staining on Travertine surfaces but doesn’t make travertine impervious. Promptly clean spills to avoid permanate staining.

The sealing process typically takes a few hours, including thorough cleaning of the travertine surface, precise application of the sealant, and adequate drying time. Choosing professional sealing over DIY ensures the expertise and specialized equipment to apply the sealant evenly and effectively are used. Professionals can also identify and address any underlying issues that may not be apparent to an untrained eye.
